This probably isn’t news to anyone in the industry, but development and investment appetite for new large scale solar sites is as strong as ever.
With all political leaders gearing up to be even greener than David Cameron post the December election, the clean tech sector is expecting further impetus into the New Year.
The real driver behind this resurgent interest in the sector is the continuing fall in the cost of solar panels. When deployed at scale, solar is now able to compete with other technologies selling into the wholesale energy markets. When coupled with onsite demand or battery storage the potential returns can look even greater, but there are also other creative deployment opportunites that are being explored and implemented.
As the cost of solar panels is expected to fall further, 2020 is likely to become one of the busiest yet for solar developers.
